High School Grade 9 Curriculum
Reading
Students will analyze plot, conflict, sequence, elements of style, Shakespeare, epics(Odyssey), literary non-fiction, theme, symbol and poetry.
Writing
Students will write narrative, expository, persuasive, and descriptive essays of 500 to 700 words in each genre using research, organizational and drafting skills. i.e. biographies, autobiographies, short story, research reports, persuasive compositions, document related to career development, technical documents.
In Writing all conventions will be used properly.
Speech
Students will deliver focused coherent presentations as narratives, response to literature, research, persuasive presentation; these need well defined thesis. Recite poems, speeches, and dramatic soliloquies of 4 to 6 stanzas.

Technology- Computer
Students know how to use contemporary and emerging technological resources in personal, community and workplace environments. Plan and conduct multiple step information searches using networks and modems, achieve balance between research information and original ideas.
Understand the importance of protecting personal information.
Physical Education
Working in groups, being leaders and followers, rights of others, fairness, rule compliance, speed accuracy, skill development, baseball, volleyball, soccer, track, swimming, tennis, and surfing.

Violin, viola, guitar, singing, group performance.
Art
Students perceive and respond to works of art objects in nature and the environment. Students apply artistic processes and skills using a variety of media to communicate meaning and intent in original works of art.
